Recollections (2026)
‘Recollections’ centres around emotional memory and reflection. I wrote it as a way to explore memories through musical representation, where each movement carries its own emotional tone and weight. The piano introduces each major theme, with both the soloist and the orchestra varying and expanding this material throughout the work.

Fields of Dreams (2025)
‘Fields of Dreams’ opens with a light introduction from the woodwinds before a restatement by the strings. I aimed to create a light and relaxing atmosphere, inviting the listener to immerse themself in its harmonies. Ultimately, ‘Fields of Dreams’ captures the essence of pure relaxation, offering a place of tranquility for the listener.

A Soldier's Duty (2024)
Set during mediaeval war times, this piece explores the internal struggle of a soldier torn between the call to battle and the desire to stay home with his beloved. The cellos and basses underscore the interplay of two themes: one symbolising his duty and war, the other representing his longing to remain. I play with the tonality of each theme to convey a slightly different meaning throughout the composition.

Flight (2024)
“Flight” explores the idea of being free from the confines of gravity. While writing this piece, I used the piano as a tool to freely explore different expressions of the changing harmony. The end result is soaring runs, effortlessly gliding above the orchestra, embodying that sense of freedom.
