Three Golden Mirrors (2024)

I composed these three pieces with the aim of exploring the symbolic meanings mirrors can hold for different individuals. The soloist serves as a conduit for the listener's perspective, while the orchestra embodies the diverse range of experiences and emotions elicited in response. ‘Reflections’ delves into a sombre exploration where the listener reflects on negative aspects of their reflection. Conversely, ‘Dreams’ celebrates the positive facets and joys to be found in the mirror’s gaze. In ‘Golden Treasure’, I crafted a deliberate and introspective journey that combines elements from the earlier explored themes. Depending on your perspective, you might find yourself drawn more towards one aspect over the other, or perhaps even appreciate the intertwining of both positive and negative reflections.
